Georgia State Summer Undergradute Research Symposium

INSD Lab Research Assistants Eileen Delgado and Brinae Pugh presented their research at the GSU Summer Research Symposium!

Eileen's research examined how digital behavior relates to adolescent mental health and resting-state brain connectivity using data from the ABCD study. She also received the Best Brains & Behavior (B&B) Program Award!


Brinae's research examined how alterations in large-scale functional brain networks relate to cognitive performance in Huntington’s disease (HD). Using resting-state fMRI, ICA, and functional network connectivity analysis, she identified significant associations between brain network connectivity and Stroop test performance to provide insight into the neural mechanisms and patterns underlying cognitive changes in HD.

April, 2026

INSD Lab Research Assistants Charan Tej Peeriga and Joel Jeny Koshy presented their research at the GSU Undergraduate Research Conference! 
​
The research focused on developing an open-source analysis framework for the Screenomics application developed by Stanford. It is especially useful for researchers of other disciplines to use this new avenue of research to advance our understanding of how social media can affect the behavior of participants.

INSD Lab Masters Student Anushka Phadke presented her research at the GSU Graduate Conference!

This research focused on a conceptual framework for understanding how genetic variation and pubertal maturation interact to shape ventral striatal development during adolescence. By integrating evidence from developmental neuroscience, endocrinology, and genetics, the model suggests that genetic predispositions and hormone-driven changes jointly influence dopaminergic function and reward-related neural processes.
